Although I didn't get a table at ECCC this year, I did do couple of commission sketches between projects.  Here's the first set....

Blue Trees

Don't adjust your monitor... the trees are blue.  If you live around Seattle area, you might have seen them.  I thought its some sort of tree fungus treatment or some kids did it as a prank.  Well, I walked by these tree tonight and got the official answer from this sign below.  Mystery solved.  

Conventions

Two weekends, two great conventions. First was the 10th Emerald City ComiCon. I didn't get a table at the show but did show up on Sunday to walk the floor.
The word is on Saturday, the attendance was WAY UP. People couldn't get into the show at some point because there was too many people on the floor. Next year, we might see the show floor expanded. I'm so glad this con is doing so well and its right in my back yard. It's all about comics and I hope it stay that way. With so much to see and friends to talk to... I only took one cosplay pic. Harley, you just makes everyone laugh. :)

This weekend was Sakura Con, their 15th year in Seattle. This con have a different crowd. Younger perhaps, but most fans dressed up as their favorite anime or manga characters. Below are just the tiniest sample of cosplayers at the show.

R.I.P. Ralph McQuarrie

I remember seeing this in Hong Kong and this art sold me on the movie. After I came to the US, my brothers and I got the art book and I copied the crap out Ralph's work. Mr. McQuarrie, you will be missed by me and legion of artists that you help inspired.

So long 2011...

2011 was pretty eventful for me. Doing the artist alley at ECCC in March was a lot of fun. I took tons of cosplay photos even met Phoenix Jones.

inFAMOUS 2 and inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood (DLC) for PS3 came out this year. Also did another panel talk at PAX Prime on 2D cutscenes construction for inFAMOUS to a small but enthusiastic crowd... thanks to all those folks that showed up. Hope you like the t-shirts. ;)

Going into 2012, I have couple of personal projects in the works and will share when I have anything concrete to show... so check back often.

Finally... Thanks everyone for checking out this little art blog! I really appreciate it and will try to post as much as possible. Hope everyone have a happy and prosperous new year in 2012!!

Monster Chase

This is a test web comic idea I was playing around with. Doing a regular web comic would be fun but it is a lot of work to keep some sort of schedule daily or weekly. The upside... once the story arc is over, it can probably be collected in a regular comic to sale at Emerald Con. Maybe if I have a good enough idea, I might give it a try.

Woody and Buzz

About a week ago, I attended a story/anim masterclass taught by Matthew Luhn and Andrew Gordon from Pixar. It was very informative and inspiring. That weekend, I drew this fan art and send it to them to say "thanks". It's my take on Woody and Buzz except they are more human looking instead of toys.

Baron Karza

This is a fan art of the Baron Karza from the Micronauts toy and comics. One of the first toys that incorporate magnets for joints so you can pull the limps apart and re-assemble them. The Marvel comics was cool too especially the Michael Golden issues.
