This is my last minute entry for the Inception Comic Cover Contest on DeviantArt. They provided the story and template so I just drop in the art and posted it. The DA staff is going to select 15 semi-finalists and Christopher Nolan picks the final winners! I know it's a slim chance... but who knows? Fingers crossed!
I know... he looks kinda sad. Maybe he's a mall Santa and after a full day dealing with so many kids, he just ran out of gas. ;)
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Tron Legacy on Dec 17th. I wish Disney would have release the original Tron movie on dvd first but noooo.... they probably holding it till after the new movie comes out. Boo. Anyway, here's the trailer if you haven't seen it already.
Once again, Augie and friends are putting on a Art Jam in Georgetown on Dec 11th. There's going to be music and artists painting the night away. Plus all the artwork will be on sale... each piece priced at $50 and under. This is a great event to check out Seattle local artists at work (and play) and grab some great artwork for presents this holiday season. Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to get into the mood for Christmas. Way back when I started doing the comic convention thing, I made a character named, "Spooky Sammy". I made a batch of little mini comics to sell for 50 cents each plus a few prints. She was a cartoony character and her ability was to be able to see monsters and talk to them. They would help her out in some way, usually to get back at someone that wrong her some how.
Super quick sketch of a ghost wandering in the cemetery. Why do they wear white? I know it contrast nicely with the darkness but why don't they wear other bright colors or with patterns? oh well...
I had a good time at the Jet City Comic Show. It's their first show and only for one day... so it wasn't as big as ECCC. All the exhibitors were up front and all the artist/comic creators are in the back. I got a pretty good table facing the front so there were more traffic for me.

I did average amount of sells of Betsy Mae comics and did a few convention sketches. The one above is a She Hulk sketch.
First time ever, I did some portrait sketches. One of the Knights of Solaris stood in front of my table while I worked on the drawing. His armor was really cool and was a challenge to put all the details into the sketch. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic of the sketch before he left. Right after that, a lady want a sketch of her in the Wonder Woman outfit! While it was fun to do portraits, it was also a little nerve wrecking because you're drawing the client... standing right there! I really hope they like their sketch!
The Jet City Comic Show is going to be on Sat. 9-25 at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall from 10 AM to 6 PM. This is their first show so it should be interesting. I'm going to be in the artist alley at table AA31. So come on down if you are in the area!

Helmet design is closer to Ralph McQuarrie's original concept sketch of Darth Vader. It looks like a perfect fit for Christopher Lee. ;)
