...desert planet. A Fremen watches as couple of sandworms cruising in the deep desert.

Crysknife

Crysknife is the scared weapon of the Fremen, made from the tooth of a dead sandworm. This is their primary weapon since lasguns and shields cause vibrations, which attracts the worms.

Paul Atreides

This is Paul Atreides from Dune. The Fremen call him "Muad'Did" by this point and his eyes changed to blue by the spice melange. If you understand all that... congrats, you're a scifi nerd.

Sandworm 2

Another take of the sandworm from Dune. I picture them to be more flexible and be able to compress their body when it open their mouths.

Baron again...

Another take on the Baron Harkonnen... this time showing scale with the anti gravity "suspensors". It works just enough to get his feet off the ground.

If they use this type of design for another Dune movie, the actor can enter the Baron costume from the back so the scifi tech can hide the zipper. Poke his face and hands through then apply make up/prosthetics to blend in with the rest of the suit. :)

Baron Harkonnen

My take on Baron Harkonnen from Dune. He's so large that he wears a anti grav belt so he can move or the weight of his body would crash him.

I thought this would be good for "unfold". :) This is my first paper toy... made from scratch! It's pretty simple to put together. Click on the pic above and save it on to you computer. Print it out on a card stock, cut, fold, and glue. That's it!

Land of the Lost

I kinda remember the original Land of the Lost show. But I really dig the trailers. It looks funny... and I like the design for the Sleestak. You can't beat a guy wearing a rubber monster costume.

Mech Trooper

This is basically a tank. There's room for the pilot and gunner. The advantage of using this would be for urban warfare... where it's more mobile in the streets and alleys. If the war zone is in the city, the first thing people would do is to destroy the streets and put up blockade. So having a mech would be useful.

Sandworm

Here's my take on the sandworm in Dune...one of my all time fav book! I want to make it more "worm" like so it's thinner on the front and end. The mouth close together to a point and the rings on the body is in a spirl, so it spin clockwise as it digs into the sand.

I saw the new Star Trek flick yesterday. It's a really fun movie!

Muppet Rawk!

There's a rawking art show going on this Sat, called "Muppet Rawk"! If you're in the area, you've got to check it out. Lots of local talents take classic rock albums and put Muppet characters in them. It's pretty awesome and might become an annual show in Seattle.

*UPDATE 5-3-2009: I saw the movie. Verdict: I thought it was okay. It have a lot of flaws and also feels like they try too hard to make everything fit with the other X-men movies. I did enjoy it as a popcorn flick. There you go.

An art project by Kacie Kinzer in New York, this robot can only go straight and have a flag which tells where it needs to go. It would get stuck on the curb or under benches and rely on people to put it back on course. You would think people would just stomp on it or take it with them... but people actually take time to help it get to its destination. It's such a neat experiment!
